The Nature of Being Human
Friends have told me that I have a unique way of seeing the world. More than likely, I have been influenced by my work in education, the three years that I spent in the Netherlands and my lifelong calling as an observer and a writer. While I don’t know if my view of the world is always the most logical, I do know that it rests on a belief in social justice, fairness, and a sense that as an American I am only a small part of the fabric that makes up our international community. I have always felt that it’s my responsibility and my duty to explore and learn from the rest of the world because no one person (or country) has all the answers to our problems, and I believe that solutions to global issues will only arise from a consortium of ideas.
Wealth and power do not hold the upper hand in the realm of ideas, but sometimes it does influence the ability of those views to reach a large audience. It is my hope that the film projects produced through Cut Loose Productions will help give voice to people who have a true vision for creating positive change in the world and will empower others to explore their own potential for making a difference.
